Czech Subtitle Generator

Add Czech subtitles to any video automatically. Upload a video with Czech speech and get accurate, timed subtitles back with every háček and čárka in place — č, š, ž, ř, ě, ů and the long vowels written as they should be.

Czech has seven cases, a consonant in ř that exists in no other language, and a gap between formal and everyday spoken Czech that shows up in nearly every video. The transcription is tuned for spoken Czech as it is actually used.

  • Háčky and čárky correct
  • Common Czech handled
  • Case endings from context

What makes Czech subtitles different

Every language breaks in its own way. These are the parts that matter for Czech.

Every diacritic

Č, š, ž, ř, ď, ť, ň, ě, ů and the long vowels á, é, í, ó, ú, ý are written, not stripped. Byt and být are different words and the subtitle says the one that was spoken.

Obecná čeština understood

Everyday spoken Czech — dobrej instead of dobrý, vokno for okno — is transcribed as said. Standardise to formal Czech in the editor if the video calls for it.

Bohemia and Moravia

Prague, Brno, Ostrava and the regional forms in between are handled from the audio, and Slovak speakers in a Czech video are transcribed in Slovak rather than forced into Czech.

Endings that agree

The case ending is chosen from the grammar of the sentence, so a noun after a preposition comes out in the form a Czech reader expects.

How to add Czech subtitles to a video

Upload, review, export. No timeline scrubbing and no timecodes typed by hand.

  1. 1

    Upload your video

Create your free account, then drop in an MP4, MOV, MKV or audio file containing Czech speech. There is nothing to install.

  2. 2

    Generate Czech subtitles

The model transcribes the Czech audio with the diacritics in place, chooses case endings from context, follows the speaker between standard and common Czech, and times every line to the frame.

  3. 3

    Edit and export

Correct any names or terms in the editor, then download the video with Czech subtitles burned in, or export a clean .srt or .vtt file.

What Czech subtitles have to get right

Czech spelling is precise and the diacritics carry it. The háček turns c into č, s into š, r into the ř that learners spend years on; the čárka marks vowel length, and length changes meaning. A transcript that drops them is not slightly wrong Czech, it is a puzzle. Every diacritic is written, and the export is UTF-8 so they survive the trip to YouTube or a video editor.

The grammar is the next test. Seven cases, three genders, verb aspect, and endings that often sound alike in quick speech. The model picks the ending that fits the sentence rather than the one closest to the sound, which is what keeps the subtitle grammatical even when the speaker is fast.

Then there is the fact that almost nobody speaks textbook Czech on video. Common Czech — obecná čeština — changes vowels, adds a v before initial o, and reshapes adjective endings, and it is what most Czech creators actually say. The transcript follows the speaker by default. If you want the subtitles in standard written Czech instead, the editor makes that a quick pass before export.

Frequently Asked Questions

Specific to Czech, not the generic list.

Are háčky and čárky written correctly?

Yes. All Czech diacritics are written and exported as UTF-8, so č, ř, ě, ů and the long vowels display correctly in every player.

Does it handle everyday spoken Czech?

Yes. Common Czech is transcribed as spoken. If you prefer standard written Czech on screen, standardise the text in the editor before exporting.

What if a Slovak speaker appears in the video?

Slovak speech is transcribed in Slovak rather than forced into Czech, so a mixed Czech-Slovak conversation comes back as it was said.

Can I export Czech subtitles as SRT?

Yes. Export a .srt or .vtt for YouTube, or download the video with Czech subtitles burned in for Reels, Shorts and TikTok.

Can I get English subtitles from a Czech video?

Translated tracks are on the roadmap. The Czech transcript comes first so any translation is made from a corrected source.

Can I edit my captions before exporting?

Yes. Correct the transcript, adjust timings, choose a caption style and then export the finished video or a clean SRT or VTT file.
